Spring Branch in Comal County is the place to be if a small town amid bigger cities sounds right to you. Spring Branch got its name from a spring-fed creek that flows into the Guadalupe River to Canyon Lake and is a favorite for canoeing, tubing, and fishing. Spring Branch offers a variety of outdoor activities and attractions.

Bulverde and Spring Branch are often referred to as a bundle as the Bulverde/Spring Branch area though they are technically separate cities. There’s everything from wineries and parks to shopping centers and restaurants. Many of which are unique shops you won’t find anywhere else. It has a character of its own with historical landmarks, campgrounds, and fairs. The community is welcoming, laid back, and hard-working.
From camping, hiking, and mountain biking to horseback riding and bird watching, the miles of river frontage make it a calm and relaxing getaway. Listen to live music or break in your boots with some good old Texas Two-stepping. You’re sure to come across some incredible ranches and scenic views.
Spring Branch is located in Comal County along U.S. Highway 281, north of Bulverde, west of Canyon Lake. The city covers 1.9 square miles. Germans initially settled Spring Branch in the 19th century.
The City of Spring Branch operates under a commission form of government. The Board of Commissioners consists of a Mayor and two City Commissioners. The City of Spring Branch is a limited-service municipality with no paid staff.
A little over half the residents in Spring Branch have children. The elementary, middle, and high schools are well rated. On average, the warmest month is July with a high of 96°F, and the coolest month is January with a low of 35°F.
This city is strong and energetic. The population is steadily growing due to more people branching out of San Antonio and surrounding areas’ exponential growth. It’s a wonderful thing to have access to beautiful land in the hill country. You’re sure to find lots of nature and wildlife in these parts.
